As a beginner sewer (just want to make small quilts for now), I felt a bit intimidated at first. I started by practicing how to do the little things like winding the bobbin-then threading it-then changing the feet, etc. (small victories) before I practiced some stitching on the Brilliant. I viewed Babylock's various brief Youtube tutorials and am growing confident; this machine is very user friendly and smooth. Doubt I'll ever stray from Babylock now! Myer's Sewing may be the only local dealer, but I had a good experience with them. Jazz was extremely helpful and patient, and still is whenever I go in. I purchased an adjustable Husky work bench at Home Depot for my sewing table so I can stand or sit, which works very well (can pull off the black handle if it gets in the way).
I am LOVING my new machine!! So easy to use & instructions are easy to understand and follow!!

I finally purchased my first brand new sewing machine and I'm so excited! I decided on the Baby Lock Brilliant for the following reasons: it has a feature for a thread cutter (big selling factor for me!), it has an LCD screen that allows you to see which stitch you're on and which foot to use, and it's the perfect size for the projects that I'd like to work on. I was using an old mechanical Janome before and I never felt inspired to use it like I do the Brilliant. I am so excited to use my new machine!! Best purchase EVER!! I highly recommend this machine & Myers Sewing Machine Co.
